Good times, Bad times - What is Our Intention? Part1
Have you noticed, some days are better than others? I guess that could be considered a stupid question, but hang with this for a moment.
Can we have each day be a better day?
I leave for work in the morning. Everyone on the road seems to be fighting me, in my way of getting to where I need to go.
Cars in the left turn lane don't seem to notice the green arrow, other cars on the expressway form formidable lanes of slow traffic that I can't get around. The traffic lights are working against me.
On other days, those same traffic lights have behaved normal. I have even had great days, when I made it to work in half the time. So, what gives?
When I finally get to work, I'm irritated, frustrated, because everyone on the road seemed to sidetrack me, divert me from my main objective; getting to work on time. The back of my neck is hot and itchy and my bladder burns. I am hyped up, but not in a positive way. I just want everybody to go to hell.
My co-workers ask me, if I am ok. At the end of the day I have to wonder, why everyone at work was on some other page than I was, because it seemed as if, everyone and everything, was in my way!
I had to fight everyone at work, to get the job done; just like that morning traffic I had to fight through, just to get to work, then I finally get home and my wife and kids are getting on my nerves.
What was the point of it all? It must be a God thing, I surmise.
Ok, so life isn't fair. You know this already.
Have you ever met anyone that told you, they never had a bad day, and believed them?
It's true, you cannot have every day work out, just the way you want it too. But, it is also true, if you didn't have "off" days, how would you know when you were having a good day?
Consider this. If you got all passing grades and made the honor roll at school all the time, would you know how other classmates felt that didn't fare as well as you? Probably not, because, you never experienced it.
Sympathy, is a wonderful thing. It gives us a chance to feel sorry for someone, or something. Sometimes, sympathy is enough. You may not understand why they feel the way the do, but you know they are not very happy.
Sympathy, borrows from empathy, in that; You cannot understand how a person is feeling, because, you have never experienced it.
In other words, when you have been rich, all of your life, you might volunteer some time at a soup kitchen, because, you feel sorry for those, less fortunate than you. That is, sympathy.
Empathy, establishes a rich base of emotion that says, " I have been somewhere, close to where you are now." In other words, "I can feel your pain, I understand".
I believe, "Life is a classroom". We go through this life, sometimes, with blinders on; trying hard, not to experience all that life has to offer us. If we are lucky, life will drag us, kicking and screaming; yet we will survive and have grown richer, from the experience.
It would be folly to say, "Go out into the world, with nothing, but the shirt on your back." It probably, will not help you, or anyone else, or get you closer to heaven.
We can only touch, from where we are, from where we have been. That is the best anyone can do.
But, the question still remains, the same. Can we consciously, experience each day, as a better day?
I believe we can.

Metaphysically Speaking
This blog concerns metaphysics and it's tie to our spiritual nature; not to be confused with religion, or religious groups; and there are several.
The word, "metaphysics" has become expanded on itself, engulfing more than the classic definition of the word. It is that area of philosophy that concerns itself with cosmology, ontology and spirituality.
Metaphysics strives to explain the nature of our being, within the world and outside of the physical realm, unifying everything, the seen and unseen; together as one.
When I think of metaphysics, I think of the underlying questions. What is the real nature of reality, why the universe exists and what is the objective nature, the intent of my reality?
More personal questions might be: Why are we here? Do we have a purpose in being here? What is the nature of God? Where did I come from, before I was here?
I'm a philosopher. You don't need a degree from a college to be one, but I do have one, tucked away somewhere. I can't help but ask the questions that can only be proved within myself. They are usually of the metaphysical variety, because these questions only lead to more questions, that are not easily answered and go deeper to me.
Like spirituality, metaphysics asks those questions that require having faith in the answers offered. It's your true consciousness, crying out for more than you are seeing around you. We have to rely on our instincts when receiving answers in this unseen world. That is usually why, so many disciplined personalities, within the sciences have a difficult time with metaphysics.
Yet, the metaphysical realm is here, it's there, it's everywhere. It does not rely on you or me to keep it alive, by confirming or denying it's reality. It simply is, and only waits for you to discover it, because that is the realm where your spirit lives, waiting for you.
